This community was annexed to the city of Calgary in 1907; real estate development started in the community in 1910 after its establishment in the same year. Some of the landmarks associated with this community are the River Park and the Stanley Park.
The community shares borders with Elbow River on the south and east; on the east is the Elbow Drive also. The Council Way runs along its northern borders, while the 14 Street W defines its limits to the west. Situated minutes away from Calgary core, this community has everything that an urban community offers; it is a stately neighborhood with upscale real estate.
The community has an association which ensures safety, and creates opportunities to make the life of the community more fun. One of the annual popular events in this community is the Movie in the Park night, organized by the Elbow Park Community Association for fundraising. The Sandy Beach and the Stanley Park are among the great places of attraction for residents in this community. In the community playground, you’ll find a skating rink, basketball and tennis courts, and two hockey ice rinks.
